I no longer trust OP. The phone has become another google mongrel. Anyways, I hardly get any more time to root etc. My old OP5 still works, and is rooted for years now.
As long as it’s unlockable you can degoogle it totally.
Agreed. No second doubts about it. The trouble is the underlying kernel and core code updates. Those are not upgraded the same way the layered OS is. That remains different. Moreover, due to the lack of software and basic knowledge in service centres in my country (they just blatantly delete and flash from fresh the OS for every nonsense service they cannot find on so called foogle). Anyways I am grazing away. OP devs are egoistic, they ban if you say things they do not like. If you challenge they ban you. Plus I somehow found few very disturbing things about their software and tracking via someone in one of the service places. So, the more I do not wish to go for them.
Woah, too much…
I still have some white spots on my map.
Telemetry and analytics disabled in browser has nothing to do with both of them on user data, right?
Means they read bookmarks and passwords and use that data, sell that data?..
Btw. Just something funny.
Avoid! I would add: Kill on sight!
Based on my own experience, I’d never recommend unRealme to anyone anymore. Speaking of Shayomi - since some time I discourage to buy that everyone that asks.
I don’t cross out OnePlus… Yet.
Did not understand your question.
Yes. Crrct.
Where I sit, I am guazing that Foogle is slowly moving to finally utilize the Android Trademark and all rights reserved concept. So anything on Android will soon be like iOS. Laptop or Desktop timeline will be back soon. Go hippy…
I had to reread this because I first thought “What’s wrong with @rafnov (the Original Poster)?”.
- Bitwarden because it has regular security audits Compliance, Audits, and Certifications | Bitwarden.
- KeePassXC/DX if you prefer manual setups.
Bitwarden is best if you’re recommending password manager to your family members or friends as it has less complexities.
Yes, I was coming from that and their internal discussions which I got privy to via someone close to me.
They are doing a lot of changes and 90% is tight-lipped.
I would tend to disagree, as for a bunch of non-tech people, audit or no audit makes no difference. Moreover, bitwarden is not that simple enough. It tries to, but in the end becomes more of a hassle for simple folks.
Many people complain about database corruption, forgetting their master password for KeePassXC (from their matrix room) and asking devs for recovering their database, though it never happened to me. So for simplicity I always recommend Bitwarden to non-tech people.
e.g. see how this user using keepass database: "No memory to load your entire database" I am locked out although I have the keyfile · Issue #1895 · Kunzisoft/KeePassDX · GitHub
with great power comes great responsibility
Also see this Syncthing warning: File Manager and Sync · Kunzisoft/KeePassDX Wiki · GitHub
I see I invoked Kthulu from it’s lair with this topic
Those are many interesting things I may never explore, but I’ll try.
Btw. My old friend, IT guy, uses Bitwarden.
Anything Experience with heylogin?
Not FOSS, is it?
Yeah, is not open sourced. Some very interesting comments here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Passwords/comments/vdnk16/heylogin_password_manager_would_it_be_a_good/
Also, they have only one non-related repo and not fully opened and updated 2 years ago.
FYI: They seem to be very mysterious about everything they do.
heylogin he have a englisch Page too.
And a Security White paper I can founded: Security architecture
Its from the Maintainer of the OpenKeychain App and other Peoples so i can see this.
Maybe we have the completed Open Source in the Future
But, yes, I’m on the Search for a Password Manager too. Actually KeePassDX with Veracrypt.
1Password are not Open Source too.
Bitwarden or Vaultwarden for Self Hosting. Maybe we become a stable Self hosting one Packet Version from Bitwarden in the future.
Well, yes, everything is better than Lastpass.
I for one don’t see a single reason not to use Bitwarden or Keepass.
That is not fully a white paper in itself, but I can understand your point.
Keepass2android (used on all of my phones) has built-in support for a number of storage and cloud services. Stands to reason some would require proprietary libs.
The offline version of KP2A is available via IzzyOnDroid repo but has fallen behind. Apparently an update to the offline version is in the works according to…
