What types of apps are you missing from the FOSS ecosystem?

It is not what I’m looking for. It’s more like that.

then try Open Note Scanner | F-Droid - Free and Open Source Android App Repository

Also from Izzy: OSS Document Scanner - IzzyOnDroid F-Droid Repository

Great ! It does the job

Unfortunately, this app is incompatible with my fairphone 2… :frowning:

I want an app that measures my running speed.

I know that I can develop it myself but I need to study for school.

When I finish school InShaaAllah and I don’t find such app on F-Droid I will make it myself.

How about Speedmeter?

Incompatible with my device.
They target old android version.

Audiobook app something like GitHub - vipulyaara/Kafka: Read, play, and download millions of books; served by archive.org.
If anyone interested to help for FOSS flavor check : F-Droid inclusion · Issue #7 · vipulyaara/Kafka · GitHub
Alternatively it’s possible to get the RSS from https://librivox.org/ and listen on your favorite podcast app

Check out one of these?

SatStat does that.

I’m not sure if anyone said it before me or not but yea an adobe scanner alternative would be dope . There are alternatives now but not one with all of adobe scanner feature if one app A has X feature it won’t have Y feature and if app B has Y feature it won’t have X so yeah one with all of em would be cool and better if its available in official repo instead of izzi or github .

Something to enable easy install of pre-Marshmallow apps on Android 14.

It seems it should still be able to download apk files manually from f-droid.org and install them via pm install --bypass-low-target-sdk-block but I haven’t tried it yet and it’s kind of an unecessary pain. It might not be as secure as installing via the F-Droid app

I’ve found a Magisk/Zygisk/Lsposed module (not sure about the terminology today) that can be downloaded from a 3rd party F-Droid repo but I’d much prefer something that’s trusted enough to be in the official repo, since this is root stuff and all.

Neo Store can do it.
