I don’t use a calender app or a program as weekly, monthly, yearly, etc., tasks can’t be automatically set, except manually, which is tedious.
Personal experience would be invaluable. It is somewhat odd to install each app and check whether it suits my needs. I therefore seek personal experience. The other posts are already time-barred.
+1 for Loop. I used it to remind me to take medication. Much better than calendar-style notifications as it is intentionally built for that purpose.
I suppose it would be ideal for water intake reminders and you’d get nice weekly/monthly/quarterly stats about how well you’re doing. It can also track stuff without notifications in case it’s something you don’t need to be reminded of.
Excellent! Here I have a user who has shared his personal experience. Thank you, Mr. mprasil.
Your first-hand experience with the app is solicited:
Does the app Loop Habit Tracker ring an alarm bell (i.e., sound) for each task? Can those alarm sounds set to be different for each unique task?
It’s really simple app in general. You can track either yes/no activities (did you drink enough water?) or measurable stuff. (how much water did you drink today/this week/month?) And for each you can set daily notification. That’s pretty much it.
There’s not many options available, but what it does, works quite well. It’s geared towards building habits, but the notifications work okay as reminders to do things like taking medication.
What is nice is the fact that it lets you track this stuff over time and even export the data so you can move your stats between phones without relying on some cloud.
What I am looking for is an app with an Audio Alarm and Vibrations based on conditions set, when I don’t use the phone, it is lying idly beside me and I am not compelled to keep looking at the screen.
I also changed the subject line to align it to my needs better. Earlier, I couldn’t assess that such notifiers could be without an alarm.
Yeah, you get just simple notification. You can set separate sound and vibration in the android system settings, so you can have something specific for Loop.
However if you want to be notified about multiple things, they will share the same notification sound and vibration settings, because they are presented to the system as same notification type.
Only Loop? Won’t the settings work for other notifiers? Should in theory work for any notifier. Anyway, this set of questions isn’t important.
The question/request that is more important is: please instruct me how these settings have to be implemented.
No issues. That will still be manageable by looking at the screen. I am not abandoning the screen totally.
When notified I will of course briefly look in to the screen.
