On another note, isn’t Mull supposed to spoof your time zone? I’ve done a check here and my system time matches my real time, I’m pretty sure it used to be either an hour ahead or behind.
regarding timezone, you can check if it is as expected using this rfp specific test: TZP
regarding video playback, I have no issues, it is likely specific to your device
Did you try playing the video I linked above? Mull somehow plays some 1080p videos fine but not others; the linked video is one in which the issue occurs.
I also doubt its device specific because I can play the linked video smoothly in regular FireFox but just not Mull. If it were device based then I would expect the same result across both.
I checked the site you linked and got this
[+] [offset] timezone | 0 [✓ timezone] |
---|---|
[+] [offsets] timezone | ef3cd0b6 [details] [✓ timezone] |
I guess that means it is spoofing correctly?
Why does Mull keep leaking my real keyboard language even when I edit things in about:config?
This browser USED to be good but gives me nothing but problems now (and the development people just ignore anything I say).
RIP Mull.
And Fennec does this better?
You’ve read Mull Browser - Privacy Oriented Browser - #49 by Antsu and the next post yet ?
Note that Mull is no longer developed anyway…
Privacy hardened yet always leaks real identifiable information but that is okay because Fennec will do it too…
So it doesn’t work and won’t be getting any future updates to fix the multiple faults?
If anyone is looking for Mull Fork. See and read here:
Can be downloaded here:
Interesting, thanks!
Do you work with the development of it?
It’s pretty surprising to find out that Mull is being discontinued, there is no warning or notification about this anwhere.
Divest is crap.
No problem and no, I don’t. And no, there was a warning on the DivestOS news Page
I imagine a total of maybe 6 people on earth read that page lol.
Mull was good to begin with but they clearly couldn’t be bothered towards the end.
Has anybody audited the IronFox source code to ensure it’s all gravy?
There were various places it was advertised and here too for sometime.
Kindly stop saying filth about someone unless you have proof.
Divest was for 10 years ← FYI.
I’m pretty active all over and never heard of saw a word good buddy.
Strange how they reached the decade milestone and chose to shutdown all mobile apps but not desktop apps?
Half effort.
I agree on the shutdown, but afaik, maintaining mobile apps is more pain than desktop ones. Plus thing is lasting a decade or even 5+ years is a good thing, especially for OSS. It is very difficult for OSS.
Also, who actually develops IronFox?
Mull was DivestOS but the IronFox github looks pretty anonymous.
But you follow F-Droid and you’ve read Calls and call for a meet up | F-Droid - Free and Open Source Android App Repository yes?
The news has been in plenty of places that those who take the effort to have found Mull in the first place would have seen it. DivestOS, Privacyguides, FDroid, Wikipedia, Reddit, and several others. In addition, DivestOS and mobile apps received their December updates before the announcement. All of the code is in public archives available to be forked. I can’t think of a more responsible way for this to have gone.
Maybe a page which automatically loads and directs users to a warning upon installation.
Warning about what? Today Mull is still likely the most (non-TOR) privacy respecting Android browser available. It was never the most secure as that would go to a Chromium fork. Until the next Firefox-Android updates come out, Mull is still the browser to use for privacy, and we all have time to evaluate alternatives. Just because you haven’t yet found someone to provide you a privacy respecting browser for free doesn’t mean that the tools to attain this aren’t available to you.
Check the recommendation here Divest OS Apps Discontinued - #12 by Cue
Warning about DivestOS shutting down.
I also doubt anything to do with Chrome forks would be more secure than FireFox.
Everything was announced. If you want to stick around please stop with this line of talk.
