Think that’s the way Google intends it, else they have the EU on their back
Is this tracker already known and removed from Mull browser?
@shuvashish76 been disabled for like 4 years now…
Thanks I thought about sharing this Mozilla vs Mull news for TWIF but now I think Mozilla’s market share is already low anyway & it damages Mozilla reputation unnecessarily.
Need help setting up Mull for the first time.
Official guide for setup suggests to not enable regional filters. This is due to increased fingerprinting or these filters are included in custom lists?
Is ubo medium mode recommended to block third party scripts and frames?
Does enabling send DNT request increases fp?
DNT headers show true in coveryourtracks.eff.org even if its turned off.
Edit:
Forgot this. Is blocking site permissions altogether good?
Yes.
If you are willing to micro-manage it, then it can be beneficial.
Arguably.
Please don’t rely on these tests, read this for reasons why: Firefox RFP and Brave's Fingerprint randomization. · privacyguides · Discussion #7 · GitHub
Nearly all of them are default ask anyway.
Arkenfox sets to spoof DNT as true irrespective of toggle. Don’t know why its suggested to turn on.
Nearly all of them are default ask anyway.
Why keep defaults it can be totally blocked for greater good.
version 130.0.0 was skipped for some reason? Wait 130.0.1 or some build trouble?
@dek
it is on the news page: News - DivestOS Mobile
- Firefox 130 was released September 3rd with 14 security fixes, however Mull 130 will be delayed due to Google removing a necessary component from the NDK in revision 27.
Is it ok to update Mull from a FOSS app like FFUpdater? What’s the difference between Mull and a browser like say Fennec/Cromite/Bromite/Brave?
FFUpdater downloads the same Mull as you’d get from the DivestOS.org F-Droid repo, but you should be using the F-Droid app instead so it is downloaded from a mirror: Our Apps - DivestOS Mobile
The difference to other browsers is documented here: Browsers - DivestOS Mobile
You should not be using Bromite, it hasn’t been updated in two years, if you want it use Cromite instead.
I’m using Mull on my Tablet so I’d prefer to use desktop mode by default for all sites.
Is there a way to do it without compromising privacy/security?
Via about:config. Otherwise via Chameleon extension. Available on Mull and using it myself.
about:config method doesn’t work in Mull browser without disabling privacy.resistFingerprinting.
In Mull I wanted to always enable desktop site by default, so I just changed the…
Thanks will try Chameleon extension method. Does it affect the security of the browser?
None afair. I have been using it like the FP extension on Librewolf.
I also use decentralyse alongside.
Changed user agent and screen size, using Chameleon then checked using https://coveryourtracks.eff.org/.
Yes changes are applied but some sites show desktop like view while others show mobile type view. Not sure what’s the correct screen size to fit all sites as desktop like view.
Chameleon
Extensions like that are not recommended for use with Mull, see: 4.1 Extensions · arkenfox/user.js Wiki · GitHub
Please don’t use coveryourtracks either: Firefox RFP and Brave's Fingerprint randomization. · privacyguides · Discussion #7 · GitHub
I’m no longer going to use either Fennec or Mull. It sucks for me but I am tired of this bullshit, I say it how it is. The free software movement is a complete circus and its clowns are annoying as all hell. If I have to embrace the botnet and be the product myself so be it.
Then do not rant here. Go somewhere else…
