I found a severe graphical glitch when using Luanti 5.15.0, and I tried pointing it out to Luanti’s developers: Making sure you're not a bot!
(Ignore the Bot message please, Luanti’s forums do that for some stupid reason)
Unfortunately I hit a standstill, and the only way to alert Luanti’s developers of their mistake, is to pull the update off of F-Droid, plus related repositories, making 5.14.0 the official stable release. Maybe that would shock Luanti’s developers into correcting the graphical glitches. Not to mention, I discovered it within 24 hours of the updates launch as well.
I did, they refused to do anything. I gave them a screenshot from 5.15.0, then one from 5.14.0, yet they still declined to do anything. I looked at the screenshots myself, they clearly show a serious glitch with the textures, and likely many others have stumbled across it too.
Yup, if it affects F-Droid, it affects all applications. Because 5.14.0 works perfectly, and it came from F-Droid too. That’s my assumption. Because there are other updates that they usually cover up, and the graphical glitch is definitely the result of the Luanti application itself. Nothing else.
Just installed Luanti 5.15 on my Pixel 6 and run a new world for both minetest_game and mineclonia and for me at least, both look fine with nothing out of place.
@Arceusl - Could you tell us the make and model of your mobile device please ?
I don’t think that’ll work, when I shoved a bunch of mods together the graphical glitches became apparent. So Luanti’s Node initialization system must’ve changed, which could’ve triggered the glitching.
It couldn’t hurt to try it out, just to be sure also which mods are you running alongside it ?
It was mentioned that you were running a Boost Summit 5G android phone which has quite a low powered Mediatek chip paired with only 4GB of ram, are you closing any open apps before you play Luanti/Minetest ?
I use 4GB of RAM. But the mods are a mixture of mods, both adding quality of life improvements, and also adding additional content. It’s impossible to pinpoint the root cause.
That could take a while…Because I use 2 separate games: MineTest on the Summit 5G, and the unstable MineClonia on my T901 Tablet (Which is an Android 15 Tablet, 4GB of RAM as well).
