Hello, just for my understanding :
- Why all those apps are in separate repos ? Is it due to F-Doid requirements, or anything else ? why to not include them in F-Droid official repo with a warning (like for non free services) ?
- Can I trust a third party repo ?
Sorry to update this thread with this “suspicious” question, but I am discovering this “repos” feature. Thank you for your help !
The main repo has higher purity conditions, eg. Fully FOSS, while same apps can’t or devs won’t
Thank you for your kind reply. Last question please : does F-droid members/community audit those repos (I mean, the repos listed above) against security issues ?
For instance, if I take Molly, shall I fully trust the developer, or is his/her code checked against security issues once it is compatible with F-Droid ?
Thank you again.
No, we can’t, each user should do their research before adding anything.
This is just for convenience, there’s a reason these are not added by default in the client.
@f_droid-anyone @Licaon_Kter : hello, thank you very much, you have answered clearly, I really appreciate and I wish you a nice day/evening (you know… it’s Internet).

OOC, where in the app files are the default repos present? I tried searching, but till date cannot locate. Probably not looking at it correctly.
where in the app files are the default repos present
You can add overrides on device to /*/etc/org.fdroid.fdroid/additional_repos.xml
Thnaks. This helps.
I just added Obfusk F-Droid repo.
Here’s a really great list of F-Droid Repositories with their descriptions, links, etc…
(A Telegram Channel, updated frequently.)
I just (re)added https://fdroid.libretro.com/website/
Funkwhale developers have published the repository for the official Funkwhale Android app: https://fdroid.funkwhale.audio/
Cryptomator encryption service has its F-Droid repository for the Android app:

At now the following repositories give permanent error: i tried some investigation.
- Rakshazi (trying to contact developer)
- Platschi (asked them on Reddit)
- Onosendai (the whole site seems offline)
- Nitlanguage (the repository seems to actually exist but probably because of wrong setting it can’t be read by F-Droid app)
- Metatrans (link has changed, I had a look on their website and put here the correct one)
- I2P (I asked them on Reddit, they had a look and fixed it!)
- Antox (the app doesn’t exist anymore, so also the repository has been deleted)
- UnifiedPush (repository not reachable anymore)
UnifiedPush answered that their repository has been deleted since their apps are now all on main F-Droid: UnifiedPush: "@edosecco@mastodon.uno We have closed this repo s…" - Fosstodon
I was also able to finally find Submarine repo contact, waiting for his answer.
GitJournal developer changed settings for his repository, but it needs to be removed from one’s F-Droid and added again: Reddit - Dive into anything
