Google will require developer verification to install Android apps, including sideloading

Well, Age Verification is only accelerating it, but, if Age Verification is stopped, then more can be done to crumble the Data Brokering business.

And and what is the problem with it?
This money goes to fund the development of the Android Open Source Project and the further production of the only device that has a strong secure element AND an unlock-able bootloader.

Why would it be better to give that money to for example Samsung who do a lot less for Free Software then Google does?

Actually…Google also uses it to fund ways to shut down our freedoms too.

@ArceusI

Not true, Google’s motto is ā€œDon’t be evilā€ and they are not. They are a noble company that only has the users’ best interests always at heart.

Got OpenContacts and Aurora Store confirming, they will not sign up for dev verification. Working with FSCI to get a letter sent to CCI if that may help.

So, looks like Google is escalating this war. Looks like ArceusLand may also have to get involved in this. Because one of its laws prohibits restricting of FOSS software. So Google is definitely screwed if ArceusLand gains enough jurisdiction on the Internet.

  • These changes don’t affect people on Custom ROMs like GrapheneOS, LineageOS, /e/OS …And people that really care about software freedom use a custom ROM anyway.
  • Because the fees for the devs a higher then Google’s cost to perform the ID check’s, Google don’t need to allocate extra funding to it.

Yeah, but the valuable information goes through an Identity Verification corporation, like Persona, which we all know now has dangerous links to federal governments because of a detected Watchlist.db partition.

Read my arguments.

Here’s my Argument because somebody else made it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCi9Uq5GZ18

Deep Humor and many others confirmed the extreme danger of Identity Verification.

Well, I guess Google’s Developer Verification system is no longer viable: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cR9kui83rjA

Over 1 billion IDs were leaked…

what is difference between gplay and gitlab where user have to share email/tel/credti_card numbers?

You don’t need to interact with Gitlab… you can do it here

Did you even notice the massive ID leak I linked to?

I’m sorry, probably I don’t understand but it seems that it is not answer to the question

Thank you for info. How to do it? Can you help?

PS
anyway GitLab requires what it requires

Actually, it’s extremely relevant, because if IDMerit suffered a catastrophic ID leak, imagine the damages that would result because of Google’s ID Verification methods (Plus the Facial Scans too, both Developer & Age Verification) if a leak occurs there.

sure, more data they collect then bigger problem but why gitlab need my phone and credit card.
These data can leak too.

Thank you & yes, I understand about its integrity….
