We need to drop support for Android older than 4.0 since lots of key parts of F-Droid client no longer work for older versions. That means we can’t get security and usability updates for those libraries. Who here is still using devices running Android that is older than 4.0? Please add to the discussion here:
I also still think it is important to support all Android versions. That’s why I’d help anyone who wants to take on doing a “basic” F-Droid client:
That then could remove the libraries that no longer work on old versions, and then share the core F-Droid code with the main fdroidclient.
