As I see, it is paid and requires key.
So the main question is: why F-Droid doesn’t delist it or at least add anti-feature?
And second question: why not just patch it away on build server, since it is GPL?

There’s no antifeature needed.
It’s listed because the client is FLOSS.
Patch what exactly? The authentication is server side.
What? No.

And
You confused it with cryptomator hub, which is server side. Lite version is only client-side
Make a fork then, see how long it takes them to ban it from their server, right?
There is two of them
They both work.
Unfortunately I do not have a build server to build something from scratch to test for ya.
But you are confusing Cryptomator (where is NO server check) with Cryptomator Hub, which tied to server.
@Licaon_Kter, found it!
Here they OFFICIALLY confirming that there is no server checks:
So situation about it just the same as we have with Mozilla Fennec browser.
F-Droid seems to be able to patch it out
I am not a programmer, not even a little, but AI says that this is the file in decompiled APK:
Firefox does not need a paid license, what do you mean?
That you patched it too…
Firefox does not have a paid license, what did we patch?
So what? Both are open source. Plus GPL3 allows everyone to modify and redistribute.
I mean you removed google blob, disabled telemetry, right?
So, again, how are you contributing to this FLOSS app exactly? To the FLOSS wellbeing?
There’s a difference between what’s possible and what’s fair…
Personally, i am not it’s user. See first post.
But if I would be user, I always donate (to F-Droid too, btw).
Not everyone can afford fixed payment. Not everyone can even afford it. For example try to do that from iran. Or gaza. Or syria.
So if it is free (as freedom) we can add any changes to make it free (as price) too.
You can fork and patch it and make it free. But we won’t do this. This is not good to upstream devs nor F-Droid.
