Where's the button "authorize unknown source"?

Hi.I don’t know anything about android but i want to install f-droid on my android 8.1 smartphone and i can’t find the “unknown source” button in security settings.thx.

Normally you won’t need to allow this permission manually, when you download the f-droid apk and press on the file in your file manager in the “Download” folder, then you’re good to go.

If you press the notification sent to you after the download has finished, it will ask for that permission (note: some browsers may not work) it will ask for that permission so you don’t need to find that permission.

If you still want to find it, here’s the steps:

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. Press “Apps & Notifications”
  3. Press “App info”
  4. Press the app you want to enable for
  5. Under “Advanced” tap “Install unknown apps”
  6. Enable “Install from unknown sources”
