Welcome a new Fennec F-Droid

@relan hmm? https://toot.cat/@rnd/115090247849271975

Waterfox has new menu enabled since at least 1.1.1

Mozilla now tracks you even more actively using proprietary 3rd party services

Source? How exactly do they “track even more”?
Thank you

Is anyone else experiencing weird visual glitches on 142.0? Like these:

It’s a clean profile, no extensions.

@gentleman yes. +1.

Sometimes. Tested even on clear device.

@Licaon_Kter please take a look

Why new recipe for each version?

Because code changes and we need to clean up non FLOSS!?

Hmm, there’s a new tab bar that sits there, not yet activated

I see no issues when I use bottom placement

How to activate the tab bar?

Go to Settings, About, touch the logo several times until you see the toast

Then go Personalisation, and activate the new “tab bar” toggle

Enabling the tab-bar makes no difference:

Is the tab-bar new to Firefox Android 142.0? It could very well be the culprit then, not sure though.

it’s experimental, as you’ve seen

since it lives where you see the issue, yeah, maybe

anyway, disable that

if you put normal bar on bottom, does the glitch still appear?

if you put normal bar on bottom, does the glitch still appear?

Yep:

As far as I can see it happens on opening tabs from links and switching between private and non-private tabs. I’m willing to bet it may also happen on other Android Firefoxes but I have not installed any other flavor at the moment.

Ok I downloaded Firefox from the Aurora Store and indeed it has the same fuckery going on.

@Licaon_Kter can you (or team) fill an issue report?

I can’t reproduce this, better for someone that’s affected

Dear whoever repackage firefox, please remove your tracking connection to gitlab.

Please stop modify config values and force lock them

Fix bug where user change config values and fennec doesnt retain them

Fix bug that doesnt delete cookies and clear on quit.

Fennec with its modifications is insecure and exposes users on more tracking and fingerprinting.

It not a tracking, but a wallpapers connection

Which ones?

I don’t see this, did you enable “clean on exit” in Sottings?

Proof please?

True, but not F-Droid fault.

P.S: @Licaon_Kter maybe you can also cut-off Google telemetry in F-droid builds?

We already do afaik

What do you see?
