Video player Next Player won't auto rotate

I tried using Next Player for video playback, but it won’t auto rotate a video. I’ve checked in Android 13 settings and Auto Rotate is enabled, in fact it works with any other app or document, just not video playback it seems.

There are a few controls which display briefly when playing a video, but they disappear almost immediately and I can’t find any Help files for this particular player anywhere. Does anyone have it installed who can tell me what I have to do to force a video to auto rotate when holding the phone upright?

Well, thanks for nothing. Obviously you’re too lazy to be helpful by writing a simple explanation.

Anyway, the developer’s loss since I got rid of it and installed VLC instead, the latter of which I downloaded from Google Play Store.
