Unable to install on Lineage OS 15

Newbie to the AOSP scene here.

I am running Lineage OS 15 (Android 8.0) on a USA unlocked Motorola Moto G4 Plus. Every time I tap the “F-Droid.apk” in the file manager it pops up a window saying “Package installer keeps stopping” and gives me the options to “Close app” and “Mute until device restarts”.

Any help or info would be greatly appreciated!

Try to install from a PC via adb ?

This worked! I’ve never sideloaded an app before so the thought never crossed my mind. Thank you so much for the idea!
