Requirements:
- Android Devices
- Retroarch (For light gaming)
- Standalone Emu (For heavy gaming)
Let’s start with Retroarch, this is universal emulator created by community user can use it to play almost all retro game but at the end of the day i can’t recommend you to depend on Retroarch entirely because for heavy core especially it usually didn’t work well with various issues
Setup Retroarch:
- Download Retroarch Lite by Neil4
- Open and download core that suitable only for light gaming
- get your game copy and enjoy the game
for other heavy gaming:
- download a Standalone emulator Example
- setup the emulator & get your copy of the game
- enjoy
now i will share which core that considered light and which core is not
Light Core (Supported on Retroarch)
- NES (Fceumm)
- SNES (SNES9X)
- GBA (mGBA)
- SEGA Gen (PicoDrive)
- Sharp X1 (X Millennium)
Heavy core:
- NDS (Melon or Drastic)
- PSP (AetherSX or PPSSPPP)
- Game Cube
FAQ
• Why only light core that are suitable on Retroarch?
• Emulation is complex and Retroarch is developed by community
(Open Source) so it’s clear you can’t expect too much on them especially for heavy gaming so divide or plan B is needed for mitigation
• isn’t that drastic proprietary?
yes but like i said before you can’t entirely depend on open source because of rising issues
