F-Droid now has a TOTP generator that works thanks to Miceli guys ![]()
we have like 2 dozens: F-Droid Search: totp
Searching F-Droid with âotpâ in my A15 lists only 3 : mOTP generator, and 2 helpers: SecureOTP and Copy SMS Code (minimum required and 2 bonus for the ones too lazzy to copy/paste).
Many keywords, use them all totp hotp otp, one at a time ![]()
âotpâ and â2faâ should match all isnât it ? Not even talking about SMS or anything else, at least hotp and totp should, as specific implementations. â2faâ gives more hits but, as a non native English speaker I didnât thought about it,⌠and whatever, it doesnât match mOTP app ![]()
Advisors should more often put themself in their recipientsâ shoes.
Have a nice day (I donât take that much risks
)
even with the broken search in F-Droid client 1.23 you get 4 hits for âotpâ, 2 for âtotpâ and 10 for â2faâ
not F-Droidâs fault what developers put in their descriptions
in newer 2.0-alphas (F-Droid Basic 2.0 alpha released): 9 hits for âotpâ, 18 for âtotpâ, 10 for âhotpâ, and âmotpâ is always listed
for â2faâ we get 18 hits and âmotpâ is not⌠for the reason above
we also have a whole category now: Password & 2FA visible in all clients
As I said : 3 hits
And I never moan F-Droid is faulty at all - my OP was only constructive about what I though could help others in the same deadlock I felt myself. But if the key-words search result depends on developers descriptions, why is there, according to you, a difference of 2 against 18 for totp depending on FD client release?
Categories are boring too broad and overlapping which makes them useless for me, at least for my language as many lack translated description, so as I seldom install new apps I nevermore search via categories (to be fully honest that led me to completely forget them), maybe wrongly thinking key words are more straight forward.
In fact the âMots de passes & A2Fâ category shows 58 apps, mostly not able to be topt generators or far too huge of rich features, but at least mOTP was listed⌠key-words did the job⌠for this very one, far more efficiently.
Really, a nice day to you and all F-Droid team that work hard to make the Android world better. Many thanks
because F-Droid 1.23 and older has a broken search ![]()
Fixed in 2.0-alphas ![]()
Things have changed in the last year, maybe check again
Thank you ![]()
⌠and to me Aegis is the best by far.
