Hi, I am looking for various ways to switch on/off the torch without unlocking the screen.
I found Latarka | F-Droid - Free and Open Source Android App Repository and a few pretty old Apps, do you know more apps?
My phone can do that by swiping down to the shortcuts icons. No need to unlock it first.
My iodé does that OOTB. Display off - long press on the Power Button - torch on. Next long press - torch off.
Many Motorolas do this if you just shake them 2-3 times. You may need to enable some gestures in phone settings first, though.
The latarka App mentioned above does this for all phones and would be a good solution. I found it difficult to use and find suitable settings though.
Other apps that I found use volume or power keys which I consider impractical because of phone case.
A related question, is there any App that would notice that the torch is on and warn or turn it off automatically if it stays on longer than some time?
On my Shift8 w/ iodé (based on LineageOS) the OS takes care of that. I have a setting to switch off the light after xx time. Mine is set to 1 minute.
I use suri for that
I have a shortcut for long-press in the notch that activate the lantern
Tapbar also does this
