Well I’ve joined the Forum and I have seen the hubbub regarding Google’s Developer Verification. It’s a Privacy nightmare.
Luckily, I have the solution: ArceusLand. ArceusLand is an Internet Nation that’s partially established that will focus on Freedom and Privacy, making it the first nation to ever follow the people’s wishes.
There are numerous laws that will affect F-Droid, so here are all the laws that will likely affect the platform:
September 30th 2025:
“ArceusLand Online Safety & Privacy Act (ALOSPA):
This law strictly prohibits all companies & governments from demanding IDs/Credit Cards/Debit Cards/Employment Information/Biometrics/Face Scans/DNA Scans/Internal Body Chip Scanning for Age Verification online, as per to protect all individuals right to Free Speech. Any companies or governments that do any of these will be heavily fined continuously until they either remove the offending Age Verification system(s) or they completely dissolve by declaring Bankruptcy (Companies only, which ArceusLand will take the company and acquire it’s assets, and then adjust the site accordingly to suit ArceusLand’s requirements), NO exceptions.
ArceusLand Censorship Prevention Act (ALCPA):
This law strictly prohibits all companies & governments from either deleting content on sites accessible from ArceusLand or even forcing Censorship on sites accessible from ArceusLand. This goes hand-in-hand with ALOSPA to force complete accessibility to all content on every site that is accessible to ArceusLand and it’s denizens. This law also sets the minimum age of Social Media all the way down to 3 years old, since Maturity has no definite minimum age due to variances in genetics and circumstantial evolution, avoiding discrimination.
ArceusLand Anti-Tracking Act (ALATA):
This law strictly prohibits companies & governments from tracking any ArceusLandic denizens, either by device fingerprinting, cookies, adware, malicious code, etc…, this law also mandates Ad-Blockers to be required to further reduce tracking, however, these Ad-Blockers must also comply with the rest of ALATA in order to be legally valid. Under this law as well, Blocking valid Ad-Blockers or VPNs (Or rendering them completely useless) will result in heavy fines.
ArceusLand Preservation Act (ALPA):
This law mandates preservation of all content, may it be Video Games, Images, GIF files, Books (Or eBooks like PDFs), Music, Videos, Text Document Stories or even Flash Content, all such files must be perfectly preserved for future generations. Any attempts to interfere with this law will be met with VERY severe consequences. Conditions for this law: The item to be preserved must be past the point of relevancy, meaning it either: 1) Has been around for at least 3 years with no updates, 2) Is delisted from online stores and/or is completely unplayable due to a service shutdown, 3) Is unavailable due to the console no longer being usable online (Only for Digital Storefront exclusives), or 4) The game is on a disc/cartridge and meets conditions 1 and/or 2.”
Thanksgiving Day 2025:
“ArceusLand Modding Legalization (ALML):
This law legalizes the Modding/Hacking of Video Games and Software and the Jailbreaking/Modding of Devices to open all features, being sure not to violate any ArceusLandic laws with said device or software.
ArceusLand Open-Source Mandate (ALOSM):
This mandate heavily promotes Open-Source applications and games, and bans any attempts to close off consumer choice from Devices (For example: Google would no longer be able to block apps from being Side-loaded, ALOSPA already deals with one part, this law deals with the other part), ensuring they can use whatever they want, but taking Security into consideration.
ArceusLand Microtransaction & Live-Service Game Depreciation Act (ALMTLSGDP):
This law puts Microtransactions & Live Service games on the Depreciation list, indicating a transition out of it, a later law will do away with Microtransactions & Live Service games completely once all of them are successfully converted, this law also does away with paid mini-DLC add-ons which don’t reach 33% of the game’s size. Subscription Services are also placed for discontinuation with this same law.”
Some of these laws might actually make F-Droid more preferred and could make it a mandatory inclusion on Android devices if ArceusLand fully establishes. Plus, I know some applications on F-Droid have paid services, which might be affected by ALMTLSGDP, but F-Droid itself will not be affected.
Ironically, ALML will likely cause Jailbreaking applications or Modding applications to appear on F-Droid, it’s a possible consequence, but of course people are leaning towards it more. But considering all these laws and their potential effects, F-Droid might seriously benefit from such laws due to extended protections of various freedoms, including Freedom of Choice, Freedom of Expression, Free Speech, and various other freedoms.
I’m sorry for just barging in here and posting this, but it is really important for F-Droid’s potential future, plus all repositories in general. Plus, I don’t know of any categories that fit this particular topic.
