I think ViMusic is a great alternative for Spotify. It’s a FOSS Client for Youtube Music with good UX.
I can’t answer to your question but I can only bring a clarification : yes, Spotube requires a spotify account.
Now I have a question for you if you don’t mind : With Newpipe, is it possible to download audios and then listen to them offline, and use a sleep timer?
