SMS Messaging recommendation

I’m using the standard Android messages app, but today when trying to send a message with an attachment, the msg was “Not sent. Touch to try again.”

So, of course I kept trying. Later the intended recipient advised me he received the msg and attachment (MMS) about 20 times. Rather than attempting to find the “bug”, I’m looking for an alternate messages app. There is one from F-Droid I use on another phone, it is called “Fossify SMS Messenger”.

Any recommendations please ? (Yes I did search first but the threads were closed about 2 years ago)

Silence still works, Quik will get an update soon, Fossify should be fine, yet MMS messages are tricky, sometimes they work :person_shrugging: other times… meh

if you do not want more than bland unimportant text, any SMS app would do

if you want privacy and media files, switch to XMPP (Conversations, Quicksy, forks) or Matrix (Element, Schildi, etc)

There is no confidential info going to and fro, so Fossify sounds good. :slight_smile:
