Estoy contento de poderles escribir. Al igual que ustedes, estoy interesado en la seguridad y libertad en nuetro sistema.
Y debido a esto tengo una pregunta:
Actualmente tengo un smartphone con S.O. Android 7.
Instalé F-Droid y estoy contento instalando aplicaciones de este sitio.
También he inhabilitado todo lo que he podido de google y del mismo android.
No obstante pensé en lo siguiente: ¿mi smartphone puede leer el contenido de las aplicaciones libres que instalo? ¿si instalo aplicaciones como por ejemplo K-9, mi smartpone sabrá las claves de acceso y/o podrá leer ms propios mensajes?
Tengo conocimiento que el smartphone tiene 2 sistemas operativos: el de Android y el del propio teléfono celular y que este último (el del teléfono celular) actúa sobre el mismo Android, es decir que en otras palabras TODO lo puede leer el smartphone.
¿Esto es así o estoy erquivocado?

Normal apps can’t read each others data eg. Gallery can’t read K-9 but, system apps (eg. Google Services, or those with ID 1000 usually) can read data everywhere indeed. It depends on the app to keep even that private data encrypted somehow).
The firmware below, the modem OS and such… yeah…they kinda have full rights I guess. So unless you use a Fairphone you’ll never be sure really.
Whether or not the modem can read everything on your phone depends on how your phone is designed. Many phones have the modem on the same chip as the CPU and thus allow the modem full direct memory access to your phone. This allows the modem (and whatever malware runs on the modem) to completely read all private data from your phone.
Some phones have better modem isolation than others. The phones supported by the Replicant project are not known to allow the modem full access to the system (when running Replicant) and are probably the best phones to use to guard against that threat. While a bit pricey, Purism claims the Librem 5 will also have good modem isolation. The Librem 5 has not been released yet, though it looks like a good candidate for a future phone to me.
