- just read Making reproducible builds visible | F-Droid - Free and Open Source Android App Repository
- its confusing to me!
- if an app is marked reproducible, does
it mean i can update or upgrade from
github apk or izzy droid repo or any other
source? ex: APK Explorer & Editor aka
com.apk.editor
if the APK is signed by the same key, yes
buuut, keep in mind that F-Droid offers the update AFTER it was verified reproducible, that’s why IT TAKES TIME
if you value convenience and install random APKs… yeah, you do you, what can go wrong…

- always assumed reproducible
means apk is signed by same key
for all known apks released by dev or
stores like fdroid, izzy droid, etc… - excuse, i misread
if izzy picks it up, yes, you’ll be able to update to that one too
that app is not setup as reproducible (aka not signed by the developer), it’s signed by F-Droid
but, the app is verified reproducible: APK Explorer & Editor Reproducibility Status which is a nice thing. If the developer will want to switch to repro builds, I guess that’s easy-er
