Replace Newpipe?

Good afternoon:

Lately I have been told that Newpipe is giving errors when playing videos.

Then Libretube, they tell me that it asks to create an account to tell the application that you are not a robot.

I was thinking about Pipepipe. But I do not know if you know any other application?

Thanks for your help

It’s not the app that gives errors, it’s the service they connect to.

Google’s Youtube always has an adversial stance, so apps need to adapt and counter its shenanigans.

It’s a matter of time, for Newpipe to bypass the new issues, or for the other apps to encounter new ones.

Just saying, keep this in mind before you jump ship thinking “this app was bad”.

Good afternoon @vdbhb59

Thanks for your help.

But I have a problem with:

Libretube tells me that I have to have an account to watch the videos, in case I am a bot. Look at FAQ - "Sign in to confirm you're not a bot" · Issue #6389 · libre-tube/LibreTube · GitHub . But I can’t find a solution. And I also can’t find the mail from the developer to inform about it.

FluxTube always appears empty. Whatever instance I use.

Clipious; FreeTube asks for an instance. I found a url address of it. And it seems to work from time to time.

PipePipe had a bug that also asked to register and gave error on other videos. But they released an update recently.

I’ve been trying skytube

Best regards and thanks for your help.

Good afternoon @Licaon_Kter

I am not leaving Newpipe. I was simply looking for an alternative while they worked it out. Since I am caring for a family member with Alzheimer’s and other pathologies. And when I was putting videos of some things to him. He stays calmer. I always use open source apps and all without Google. I use DivestOS and LineageOS without gaps, without microg, etc… and all open source for many years

Best regards

I’ve been using PipePipe for a while. The recent update fixed the connection errors.

Never replace NewPipe! It has been updated to 0.27.5 today.
This update it’s available through their repository. We’ll see it on F-Droid repository in the incoming days. But you can still use F-Droid app to load their repository.
As it has been said, Youtube break things, NewPipe fix them.

Greyjay it’s another great option, but not entirely free. Available through its own repository. Feel free to load it on F-Droid app.
