Questions on creating a bootable usb on android

idk if it’s the right place but its about creating a linux mint usb stick using fdroid’s tools so just gonna post here .

so I’m thinking abt downloading linux mint cinnamon iso frm their official website and using etchdroid app to create the usb but the question is before that how do i verify the authenticity and integrity ? is checking the sha256 of the file shown by material file file manager from fdroid with the sha.txt frm their website enough ? Does the material files get sha256 checksum the same way the linux mints file manager get it ? is it reliable and trustable ? someone who is knowledgeable please chip in . is using the gnugpg tool to verify necessary ? also should i download iso directly using a browser like fennec or is there any plus in using something like libretorrent ?

thinking of buying a no os preinstalled lenovo laptop and installation linux mint, its a good idea right ? or should i get one with windows ? feels idk weird paying for something i wouldn’t use for more than a day max

should be, yes

better yet, get Termux and verify yourself

how can i do it like easily ? in material files its just two clicks on gui and comparing digits . also if you are knowledgeable abt it feel free to answer other questions in there too .

You could also verify the signature of the checksum using OpenKeyChain.

sha256sum in Termux
