Dear F-Droid team, good morning,
My name is Soldan, and I’m an active member of the “cybercirujas” community, a group of hacktivists from Argentina spread across the country. We focus on repairing computer equipment and extending its lifespan using free and open-source software. We also engage in outreach, awareness, and discussions around the technopolitical issues that affect us. For several years now, we’ve been promoting and running workshops on the use of free software on mobile phones, whether by installing Android distributions like eOS or by using F-Droid as an alternative app store to Google Play.
Personally, I write and share a lot about these topics, and I’ve been doing so for some time on the website 421.news, where I’ve interviewed Gael Duval from eOS, and also covered different ways to “liberate” your phone.
In this context, and considering the situation around the developer verification requirements that Google is set to impose, I would like to send a few questions to the F-Droid team, so I can include them in an article I’ll be publishing in April. I’d really appreciate responses from any member of the F-Droid team who can answer them, as this would add more depth to the piece.
I can send you the questions here, but I don’t know which members I should send the message to. I will wait for your instructions, and thank you very much in advance.
