Qr reader suggestion

Good afternoon:

First of all thank you for your time and help.

I wanted to ask you if you know of any secure and private qr code reader.

I was looking at SecScanQR | F-Droid - Free and Open Source Android App Repository or QR Scanner (PFA) | F-Droid - Free and Open Source Android App Repository

But I don’t know if there is a better one. Since I do not trust Authy or Google Authenticator.

And if I may I wanted to ask if to send sms, without application for instant messaging or chats or so. Silence is still the best application.

Best regards and thanks for your help and time.

Good afternoon @Morgoth @Licaon_Kter

First of all I apologize for answering my question, with another question but I did not know whether to open a new topic or put it in this already mine.

I was looking at https://divested.dev/ and Extirpater caught my attention.

It would be good to do a cleaning of temporary and others. Or is it just to erase everything from your phone?

A hug

Binary Eye | F-Droid - Free and Open Source Android App Repository works fine

For otp, FreeOTP+ | F-Droid - Free and Open Source Android App Repository

Extirpater is only intended to be used when you stop using the phone or selling it, it should not be used continuously as this will reduce the life of the memory, caution!
If you want to know what it is and how to use it, just read → Divested Computing Group / Extirpater · GitLab

No alternative for encrypted SMS, sadly, Silence is outdated tho.

Yes, Binary Eye is top

I personally like Aegis more:

Unfortunately many apps that call for a qr code reader have hardcoded it as a call for the original ZXing one, so you might still end up needing to install https://f-droid.org/en/packages/com.google.zxing.client.android/ alongside it.

Good morning:

In the end about the qr application, the boss tells me that she likes GitHub - tomfong/simple-qr: Simple QR, a simple and lightweight app to scan, create and store QR codes. (I do not know if I trust and more coming from github …) and QR Scanner (PFA) | F-Droid - Free and Open Source Android App Repository . We thank you for your suggestions and that she will try them too.

About Silence it is a pity that it is discontinued since a long time ago. I love application for encrypted sms. And I don’t see any that resembles it. Or those I saw are Telegram or Whatsapp style. And I do not want to chat.

A hug and thanks a million for your help and time.

I can confirm Binary Eye is not one of those

I didn’t mean that Binary Eye would refuse to work. I meant the problem described at https://github.com/markusfisch/BinaryEye/issues/10 where the other app will refuse to use it.

They hardcode the exact app ID of the supported QR readers, yes. Unfortunate indeed.
