Hi everyone,
I’ve been building Odwrotna Mapa (polish for Reverse Map), an interactive map that flips the usual convention and shows south at the top instead of north. It’s intended mainly for polish users but it’s usable for everyone else too (it changes language to english automatically for you).
It uses MapLibre GL JS as an engine and OpenStreetMap data. Features so far:
- Search via Nominatim, Photon + app’s own index (for polish places)
- Discovering places nearby by searching in current map view
- Route planning and distance measuring
- Street view (via Mapillary)
- 3D tilt / map rotation (that comes back to south by default)
- Custom map and UI look (with personal color changes)
- PNG export of the current map view
- Available as web app, Android, and desktop (Electron)
