I like the idea of keeping the old one functional but to take that a step further, would it be too complicated to include both UIs in one app? It could be a settings entry allowing the user to choose between ‘classic’ and ‘standard’ perhaps.
If you’re against the new one don’t expect someone will advance the old
one. So no point in fusion of the developing and frozen code.
Could you maybe add a theming system that allow using old and new template?

It’s not my idea to save also the userdata with f-droid. I hope in a future version i coul preset some apps for an update zip. And every time alisted app got updated the update.zip got generated. Maybe a name like “f-droid-base-app-install-YYYY-MM-dd.zip” would be better.
