I have a Galaxy Samsung smartphone. Everything works, all Google services. However, I decided to add microG repositories to fdroid for fun. But I did not install them! Since my official Google services work. Today I noticed that in the section of installed applications, microG services are listed as installed. In the phone settings, I did not find microg in the search for applications. However, fdroid shows me that they are already installed. Question: is this an error in the fdroid application? Or did such repositories automatically install and replace my official services?
Yes, microG appid matches those of Play, that’s the point of being a replacement, hence F-Droid shows them as installed.
microG is useful if you DO NOT have Play services, eg. Unlock your phone and install LineageOS
