I hope that it is not entirely impolite to ask here, but I have submitted a merge request for a new app a week ago and did not any reaction. Do I have to contact anybody first or is there a problem with this request?
As far as I can see, it just needs to be merged…

Did you try asking at IRC or Matrix?
It’s not just a “merge this” thing, a volunteer needs to actually build/verify your metadata before it gets merged. And that’s a question of time… 
Sorry, I hope I did not come off as demanding. I just saw other merges in that time and was worried that I forgot something.
