J2me loader is forked from project with unclear license

https://f-droid.org/packages/ru.playsoftware.j2meloader/ declares Apache 2.0 but it’s forked from a project where I couldn’t find any COPYING/LICENSE files for the software itself nor did I see any license identified in the java source files. If no license is actually specified for that project then any of it’s code used in the fork is non free.

Forked from this you mean? https://github.com/nikita36078/J2ME-Loader

No. that’s the one in f-droid, but it’s forked from another app of the same name here: https://github.com/NaikSoftware/J2meLoader.

That one has no license specified in readme, copying or license file.

Try asking the author, he should know better.

Yeah, I’ve clicked too many times, you’re right.

Yes, the original code wasn’t licensed, so I asked author (Nickolay Savchenko aka NaikSoftware) for permission to license his code and he agreed.
