I realize you can kill apps in the backround, but it doesn’t stop my ics tablet from booting real slow. I know “Performance Control” has kind of a crude task killer, but it often stops apps I would like booting up with Android and retains apps I don’t. Right now I am using All-In-One-Toolbox ad supported app from the Play Store.
I use Lineage OS 14 and it has it in Settings 
Memory Apps started on boot.
If don’t have it, there is now abandoned great app called Autostarts in F-Droid Archive. I wish it was revived…

Despite being a static service on/off, 3cToolbox doesn’t allow preventing itself for starting at boot …
