after removing some Xiaomi and Google bloatwares from Redmi phone, through Shizuku with Canta(as suggested by canta/shown green), now my device is stuck in a bootloop for over 12hrs. i can only switch to Recovery and Fastboot mode, can’t even turn off the phone until it drains itself from loop. everything is MIUI, no custom recovery nor unlocked bootloader.
How to recovery my files, any way or any chance? please help!
Not sure you can without a Factory reset
I’ve mentioned similar case in Prevent Uninstalling of those system apps which cause boot loop · Issue #1161 · MuntashirAkon/AppManager · GitHub
UAD-ng, ADL both database are crowd sourced so anything can happen.
Don’t de-bloat system apps heavily if you’re not sure or not comfortable with factory resetting your device. Never batch de-bloat multiple apps without checking their description. Safe, Unsafe, Caution tags are meaningless to some extent.
See their FAQs.
From Canta description:
No device bricking - though if you remove an important app and get stuck in bootloop after rebooting, you will still need to perform a factory reset
You may have to find a technician to recover the files, though I don’t know how much they will charge. Maybe they have specialized software and/or hardware to access the phone’s internal storage without too much effort, but maybe they have to disassemble the phone or even desolder the flash storage to recover the files.
tried every possible things i could ever imagine, except dismantling hardware. nothing worked. so, i (click) wiped data, and it worked.
but, is there any possibility to dig to find anything leftover? if yes, how? if no, I’m good as dead.
no, all modern android phones are encrypted by default, the moment you clicked wipe it purged the encryption key rendering all data permanently unreadable.
If you have no cloud backup, no local backup, and you really, really want to recover the files, you shouldn’t click wipe data because your data will be overwritten and it makes data recovery more difficult.
appreciate that …yes. but, then the question is, what’s the solution?
The best course of action now is to seek a professional data recovery service. However, keep in mind that not all files may be recoverable. By clicking “wipe data,” you’ve already made recovery significantly more challenging. Additionally, using the phone after the wipe further complicates the chances of successful recovery.
In summary: At this stage, it’s unlikely you’ll be able to recover the files on your own. It’s best to accept the situation and invest in a data recovery service.
Sorry for the late reply, this will only be useful in the future! On my devices I can run adb
commands normally in TWRP recovery, so I believe you can install apps before.bootong as.a consequence,.although I’ve never tried it.
Alternatively, some popular backup options are seedvault (which I’m pretty sure includes /data
folder, and anything needed to restore a device on first boor after factory reset,.and nandroid or TWRP’s built-in backup option, both of which allow you to backup literally everything (which is probably the best choice, even beforre rooting/installing custom ROMs, so you can always revert back to stock if you make a mess, without having to desperately search for drivers on the Internet (where there are often dead links and unreliable sites)
There isn’t one. She’s dead Jim.
