How to use downloaded offline maps from OsmAnd~ in OpenTracks?

OS + HW: Latest GrapheneOS on a Pixel 7.

According to its menu, OsmAnd~ stores its downloaded offline maps under /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/net.osmand.plus/files. It is marked as using external storage 1. Not the internal app storage, not multi user storage 1, not manually configured storage.

The things is, OpenTracks offers the possibility (and even encourages you to) use offline maps. You can specify the path for them in OpenTracks’ menu. It offers the following folders:

  • Alarms
  • Android
  • Audio Books
  • DCIM
  • Documents
  • Download
  • Movies
  • Music
  • Notifications
  • Pictures
  • Podcasts
  • Recordings
  • Ringtones

However, when selecting the Android folder from this menu, OpenTracks says it cannot use this folder.

Any idea how to circumvent this?

Apps cannot access the Android/data folders of other apps.
You need to move the maps to somewhere else like ~/Maps
Update the path in OSMAnd for that, it should offer the option to move them iirc.

Then try to choose Maps in OpenTracks.

Android Settings - Apps - Permissions - Special permissions - Access all Files - OSMand - grant

Then move all Osmand maps to that folder, say /storage/osmand see Osmand Settings… then you can
