How to automate installing apps from f-droid?

I have more than 100 apps installed on my phone and 90% of them are installed from f-droid. Is there a way to automate the installation of these apps after doing phone reset? I have LineageOS and my phone is rooted with Magisk.

Lineage has VaultSeed backup right?

Magisk allows you to run some other backup tools too, I guess

I am looking for solution more similar to linux package managers, like pacman or apt, where using one command can install all packages at once. Maybe using Termux or adb. I just want to install the apk files, not restoring apps data.

for i in *.apk; do echo "Installing $i..."; adb install $i; done

in termux or adb

i guess i could use this method though it is not very convenient because i have to download manually 100 apk files.

Use an app or a file manager to extract the APKs from the old device

For a large number of apps, manually downloading every APK would definitely get annoying. Using ADB with a local folder makes the reinstall process much easier, especially after a clean reset. It would be even more convenient if there were a way to pull the app list from the old device and automate the download and install in one step.

I found that there is fdroidcl for installing apps from command line, but installing locally from extracted apk files is probably better and faster way.

With more than 100 apps, reinstalling everything manually after a reset sounds like a real headache. I’d try using Neo Backup if you want to restore apps on a rooted LineageOS phone. You could also keep a list of your installed F-Droid apps so it’s easier to reinstall them later. Just keep in mind that restoring app data across different Android versions can sometimes cause issues, so I’d back up important data separately too.

droidify client has a feature allowing to add app to favourites, and then export/import list of those favourite apps. No idea whether it does install all those apps automatically or not thou, didn’t try that function.

But such solution doesn’t cover user’s app data backup, and import.
ADB backup is totally unreliable, not even that it yells every time it’s deprecated.
It’s deprecated for like 10yrs but still avail in android tools.

Neo backup failed me twice, thus I won’t recommend.
Builtin’ seedvault is good, but this 12 phrase encryption is a dealbreaker for me.
Once I found App Manager and see how it just delivers what it should, it’s a no.1 for me in terms of migrating data.

For official clients, see (currently stalled, I’m afraid) “progress” @

AppShelf | F-Droid - Free and Open Source Android App Repository ?

Wait, a FLOSS turnkey 235KB APK/563KB installed app for this? Why isn’t this directly integrated into the official clients?!
