How to Access Internet on wifi only phone

Hi,

I have an old Samsung S3 which I’d like to re-purpose as a dash cam. It’s only connected to my wifi and it won’t let me search via Google or use the internet. It says “Your client does not have permission to get url/search?” and it lists Verizon in the message string.

Is there a way get internet access and or install Droid Dashcam on this mobile?

Thank you in advance.

Your wifi being your living room wifi or your phone tethering?

Home wifi not phone tethering.

You might want to consider flashing a “newer” rom (you won’t find any up to date of course, but even an old Lineage or something will do the trick most likely). With that and a browser from F-Droid (if you can get one with it’s one own engine instead of relying on Webview which will be outdated) your internet access will work well enough (for the basic stuff). Other than that… camera should work and you might get things going that way. Until recently I was rocking a S4 Mini as my daily driver  Lineage for Android 11 and modern apps from F-droid were cutting it, so you will get yours to work as well  good luck!
