Yeah Google is a freaking prick, we ought to sue their butts off to pressure them out of it.

Plus, apparently we are leaving the PC Era, this also could kill F-Droid due to the dropping of actual system storage. F-Droid depends on System storage existing, and if it goes away, F-Droid can never install.
Microsoft is doing the change first, and I know Google will quickly want to follow suit. We need to really need to shut these corporations down permanently.

Also, I just realized you need a tighter security to use Advanced Flow, pretty stupid, I don’t want to use PIN or Biometrics to set up Advanced Flow, plus restarting your device and waiting a whole day is stupid as balls, people would rather brute force bypass it entirely.
Google wants to create as many unnecessary barriers as possible as part of their war against software freedom. They’re probably hoping that people either forget within a day or that they see they have to wait and give up.
That ain’t happening, people are already thinking of going one step further than GrapheneOS.

Sort of, as people need Privacy, there is an inevitable push to stop any form of censorship. Japan has already declared that online ID Verification is illegal, which puts a monkey wrench in Google’s Developer Verification plan. Plus, it’s only a matter of time before more Privacy-centered projects arise that essentially trump GrapheneOS, I heard of Project Treble, which plans to completely break every Android device by allowing all of them to accept Custom ROMs. A huge deal due to it being a solution for people with non-standard Android devices, like my Summit 5G or T901.
So, all the Android developers, who choose to refrain from registering with Google, are now lumped together into a group of agents of coercion, whether that is actually true or not.
Is it akin to a step towards treating FOSS applications from independent developers on par with actual malware?

Google Play Store is loaded with malicious applications which only want to steal all of your sensitive information, and also drain your wallet clean of money, and also ruining your device. FOSS apps try to avoid being a nuisance. Unfortunately, Google declared that FOSS is bad if it’s not on their service, which means they’ll force trackers into such applications, ruining the Privacy foundation that the FOSS apps depend on.

I use Element X & SpaceBar primarily, since Discord is implementing Age Verification soon.
Doubt it will help long-term though, as governments (Coerced by Meta primarily) are passing OS Age Verification laws…
