Not sure what it is but emacs should work.

Good reminder… it could search clear text documents on the fly.

I don’t think it can do full text search and indexing of PDF and other formats on Android

For PDF you can use PDF readers.

Does some of the PDF readers have the capability to search all accessible PDFs?

I was hoping some of the file managers would have the ability but didn’t find it yet.

Found pdfgrep and ripgrep readily packaged for Termux
