Fennec seems to automatically request gitlab's cookies

Steps to reproduce：

  1. Do not access gitlab or clear all cookies directly.
  2. Use the Cookie AutoDelete extension to clean up cookies.
  3. It is prompted that gitlab’s cookies have been cleared.
  4. Repeat the above steps with Mull-Fenix ​​for the same extension list. There will be no prompt for the third step.

I want to find out why this behavior occurs.

This is probably related to fetching the wallpapers: relan / fennecmedia · GitLab

Please do not use Mull, it is outdated and not secure.

Afaik it’s not only outdated but dead since almost half a year. :grin:
I’m sick of mull talk on this forum and all topics about it should be closed imho.

After some rough testing, it turns out that fennec does request wallpaper data on gitlab every time it is networked, which does explain the cookie.

The reason why Mull is mentioned is because it was still being maintained when this gitlab issue was filed, except that the issue went unanswered.

It wasn’t until recently that I was reminded that I could ask a question in the forums, so I lazily copied the original issue here, but I’ve long since abandoned Mull.

can it be stopped? I have no need for fresh walpapers :grin:
