Fennec and Firefox Sync

Can I Sync Fennec on my Android device with Firefox on my desktop?

When I tap on the Sync option in Fennec, it offers to “Sync with Fennec on desktop”. That may just be the result of a global string search / replace, but it may also mean the Fennec sync store or server is really separate from the Firefox one. Does anyone know which is true? I don’t want to risk my bookmarks and passwords by blindly trying.

I just have it set up the way you describe and it works more or less seamlessly between Fennec and Firefox on desktop

Can also confirm: Syncing Firefox with Fennec works fine.
