F-Droid version of XMP Mod Player has a couple problems

I’m so happy I found that F-Droid had a 64-bit version of XMP Mod Player. For the most part it works with my Samsung Galaxy S25+ but there are a couple of problems I wish could be fixed in this F-Droid 4.12.0 version.

  1. TheModArchive portion fails with an Invalid Key. Somewhat understandable but should be able to be fixed easily enough.
  2. The player has problems with most Noisetracker modules (and some others) that are LHA-compressed, they cause “Unrecognized file format” to be displayed at the bottom.
If I un-compress them (and even re-compress with ZIP) then they will play correctly. Not all LHA-compressed MODs fail but quite a few. So it appears there is a problem in the un-compression code that did not convert correctly to 64-bit.

Can someone PLEASE recompile this F-Droid version with these items fixed? Then we’d have a fully working 64-bit version that will work with the latest Android OS.

Thank you very much,

Lamar

iirc @linsui patched it to even be working

Maybe it’s better you fork it, fix the issues and submit it as a new app?

I don’t have the ability to make the corrections or build a corrected version.

Since these are the only two issues that I’ve noticed when using this version (that was missing from the original 4.12.0 32-bit version), I was hoping someone could just correct these two and update it. Then it would be a complete 64-bit version that had all of the features of the 32-bit version.

Let’s hope somebody does :person_shrugging:

Yes, hopefully @linsui will see this and can make the minor corrections and put the new version out there.

I would send him a direct message but I don’t know how to do that yet.

I don’t use this app nor any mod files. I don’t even know what you are talking about. I just patched it to make it build but I don’t know how it works.
