I was aware of a few malicious claims by lawyers but had not realised the practice was so extensive.

It is a team effort, and a lot goes to the 2 individuals who wrote this. They gave a lot of efforts to get this done. You can see them on Gitlab doing the hard work there too. 
Of course, everyone else did contribute a lot.
