F-droid install fails on Android 15

As title says, Android 15, Google Pixel running latest. I have f-droid already installed years ago from f-droid.org, but it won’t update in the f-droid store, now.

In the f-droid store there is this message: “This app was built for an older version of Android and cannot be updated automatically”.

Then, when trying to install from the downloaded APK from f-droid.org, the message is: “App not installed as package appears to be invalid”.

What gives???

Do you have the old version installed? Did you try to uninstall the old F-Droid version and install the new version again?

Please read again, it says it won’t AUTOupdate, otherwise it updates manually just fine, press the Update button

Then, when trying to install from the downloaded APK from f-droid.org, the message is: “App not installed as package appears to be invalid”.

The site button downloads a slightly older version, you can,t update to an older version, hence the error.
