Today I was searching for diaspora* apps on F-Droid.org and I noticed that there are 2 entries that seem to be identical; dandelion* and dandelior*, with the only difference being one letter at the end of each app name (‘n’ or ‘r’). Both entries link to the same source code, developer homepage, etc. Am I missing something, or does this need to be deduplicated? The repo is named dandelion, so I’m guessing the other entry resulted from either a typo, or maybe some kind of attempt at typo squatting?
Per Multi-account support · Issue #24 · gsantner/dandelion · GitHub it’s just a somewhat hacky way to allow a second account, since apparently WebViews can’t (or couldn’t at the time) be isolated.
Fair enough. Maybe a note could be added to this effect at the top of each app description? That would be useful both for people like me who are confused, and for people wanting to solve the 2 account problem.
