CRITICAL: latestapps.dat on fdroid update!

This is fdroid 1.0.9 on Ubuntu 18.04. It is older setup that I need to revive now.
APK generation is on another machine. I am a beginner.
With fdroid update I get: “CRITICAL: b’repo/latestapps.dat’ is zero size!”

Another issue that led to this is that somehow fdroid update would remove x86_64 APK, while other 3 would be OK: x86, armeabi, arm64.
Can I fix it, how? Thank you.
