This used to be a awesome app which is now unmaintained cant be installed on. 14 13 properly for android can any one fork the project and make it available again. Thanks.
This app: Silence | F-Droid - Free and Open Source Android App Repository ?
Works fine on 13 and 14, didnât you read Encrypted SMS and malware scanning | F-Droid - Free and Open Source Android App Repository last year?
Recommending deku?
I donât know taht is this session fork or a new app that supports encryption.
No, not really
No, neither.
Are we lost in translation? The text literally says: Silence can be used again
So, try to install Silence 0.16.12 (expand Versions) and test!
My mistake i was telling about silence but misstyped so
New your recommendation is deku has many trackers and stuff.
And silence does not work smoothly i have tested on a14 and it noticable.
Even sometimes and mainly this is unsupported for a long time and unmaintained so i think if someone can take over fork it and fix and give a stable update for new Androids maybe material you design also
link to this info?
tested latest 0.16 as instructed?
Deku has no trackers. Where are you getting this information? I strictly and thoroughly check all my apps for trackers through a mix of connection monitoring and checking for tracker binaries in which I have been using dekuSMS for months and never noticed a thing.
Now having said that it could also depend on where you are getting the app and said reports of trackers from. As the same app can have trackers in other source flavors. A good example is I believe is the nextcloud client has firebase binaries normally. F-Droidâs nextcloud does not have this.
And in matter of reports if you are using exodus take their reports with a grain of salt as they canât tell the difference between say the F-Droid version of apps and the play store version. Furthermore if a app has reported trackers that doesnât necessarily mean they are going to be phoning home. Depends on how they are set up and what is done with them
As @anon36681611 suggested âΔxodusâ has no mechanism to detect F-Droid vs Playstore version due to same package name.
Use AppManager scanner report which has
- offline: Exodus trackers+IzzyOnDroid libraries
- online (opt-in): VirusTotal+Pithus
User manual reference: App Manager
It literally says on top: Source: Google Play
and you can read below Signed: Google
Interesting as NeoStore has no inbuilt mechanism like AppManager, it shows wrong info to their users.
Fetch Exodus trackers data is enabled by default without any such info as @Licaon_Kter mentioned, making F-Droid users more confusing about it. ÂŻ_(ă)_/ÂŻ
Itâs certainly not the best way as many times we see copycat apps of various foss apps on PlayStore having exact same package name as the official app.
Correct link is: Report for com.afkanerd.deku 0.45.0 - Δxodus
