Banking Solutions...?

I haven’t managed to get my (Swedish) banking app to function, ever, without GooglePlay on the phone. Some people seem to have found workarounds that stay somewhat stable for a while at least, whereas my solution was to have banking on a spare phone. Not particularly convenient, and in Sweden you need that app for a lot of stuff.

I’d love to hear of solutions to mobile banking configs that are somewhat sustainable, if there are any such… Primarily for Sweden but foreign solutions may be of interest too.

I look to up my convienience score (=carry just one phone) now, but it’s of course also in anticipation of Google’s announced changes scheduled to March 2026,

:victory_hand::call_me_hand::heart:

try an Android with microG

but depends on what errors do you get and what checks the banking app does

I gave up trying to make NFC payments working with my bank app.
I asked helpdesk what exaclty do I need to make them work, and whether it demands installed GSF+GMS, but didn’t get any useful help.
Then I found a plexus app and saw that other users confirmed NFC payments not working on bare AOSPs. Screw those payments, I’ll get along without them.
I was looking towards using curve wallet, but actually never tried it out.

In Poland blik payments became the thing couple years ago, and I’m able to pay using blik codes.
Maybe check what’s the status of blik payments in your country or at least ask your bank, as mastercard became one of the shareholers, and was obliged to promote and implement such method of payments in other european countries.

Graphene os gets some working which otherwise won’t.

Play integrity bypass is Sisyphus work.

I advocate for the senior old persons way of online banking without a smartphone - from desktop PC - with external tan generator.

This method can be used on mobile through desktop web page and won’t require anything google.

Sadly its an external secondary device, to, but more robust/cheap/light than a secondary phone!
