I switched from the F-Droid app to F-Droid Basic at the time when it got background updates before the full client did. They worked for a while but some time in the past few months F-Droid Basic started prompting to confirm all updates again.
Is there a way to get background updates again? I am using GrapheneOS. Could something about it be blocking background updates? I do have “Automatically install updates” enabled in the client’s settings.
when you install or update an app with Basic, only Basic can update unattended, when you switch to F-Droid (full) you need to confirm the first update… and then… the next one is unattended
I was aware of the first point. That was part of why I waited to ask about this. I thought maybe F-Droid become unassociated with its previous installs and would start doing automatic installs again as apps got updated again.
I hadn’t come across the second discussion in my searches. I tried denying that sensors permission to the F-Droid client, hoping that would make the permissions check pass but it didn’t seem to help. I will wait for the update that adjusts the permissions check.
