Automatic update interval - 2 weeks but does not work as intended

I have “Automatic update interval - 2 weeks” set, but it seems to me that F-Droid constantly checks for available updates and then notify me immediately and not every 2 weeks as set and desired.

For example, updates are displayed today and then suddenly also the other days.
