I’m looking for universal media player, not only music player, but for videos too.
Looking in repos as “music player” they h9ave me mostly audio file players which didn’t even see video files. Some gallery apps and file managers have their own built in players, but they can’t for example play in the background or/and pause playing when screen is rotated.
Ideal would be how Newpipe/Tubular behaves but for local files too.
Any ideas?

Not solved. It automatically pauses when goes to background and I have to manually set it PIP to play. As I said: ideal would be Newpipe/Tubular behaviour.
there’s an actual setting named “background/pip mode” and you select “play in background” and it works… no PIP needed…

VLC occurred to much indeed.
I needed more simple app so I’ve tried Just (video) Player. Unfortunately it doesn’t support full background playing, only PIP.
Then I’ve tried Next Player which is 3x smaller than VLC and supports both PIP and full background, although not in the same time. Anyway it occurred nice compromise between functionality and simplicity.
